Matthew and Terces Engelhart, founders and owners of Café Gratitude are excited to introduce their newest offering, Gracias Madre, serving Organic Mexican Cuisine to the Mission District of San Francisco.
Gracias Madre is a place for celebration.
We celebrate food. We build our lives around growing, providing and eating the highest quality, most delectable and nutrient rich organic foods. The majority of our produce is grown at our Organic, Biodynamic Be Love Farm in Pleasants Valley, including the non-GMO varieties of heirloom corn we use to make our handmade tortillas and tamales. We believe that eating local, organic food prepared simply and with love is medicine for both the body and spirit.
Gracias Madre is also a place to celebrate, honor and give thanks for all of the mothers who nourish and feed us in so many ways. This includes of course, our Mother Earth. Our seasonal menu respects the Earth and her cycles and showcases local fruit and vegetables at their peak so that our food is fresh, vibrant and flavorful. Our menu is a collaborative effort that combines the knowledge, passion and expertise of many of the mothers in our Gratitude family.
Finally, Gracias Madre celebrates the richness of Mexican culture and foods that so beautifully shape our neighborhood, the Mission. We are creating a lively, uplifting meeting place where everyone is welcome to come together and enjoy vibrant, sustainably harvested food, and one another. Gracias Madre is a space for people to connect and create community. We support self expression, community & family building, food and wellness education, and the transformation of people and of this planet. We are committed to Acceptance, Unity and Peace in the world.
